At the suggestion of Isaac Miller aka @The_Nothing_ at The Stash Smoke Shop in Milwaukie, Oregon, I’m smoking the Surrogates Satin Glove by L’Atelier Imports.
A snip and clip and familiar aromas of earthy tobacco come to me.
Once lit dark rich flavors come from a tighter draw than I’m used to (I guess from what I’ve heard, this is one of the traits of this cigar) but chocolate toast comes riding in on medium amounts of smoke (tight draw) with a mild pepper spice on the retrohale. I’m hoping this will open up once I give it some more time.
I decide to take matters into my own hands and use my Perfect Cutter to take another snip off the cap. My fingers are crossed.
A half hour in and my extra trimming must have worked; I’m just getting to the second third and the draw has improved immensely… Perfect. This could be a long smoking cigar. So far, so good.
Creamy dark chocolate and earthy flavors are making me happy with just the correct amount of spice coming and going to make it interesting.
An hour and fourth-five minutes later and I’m calling this fine cigar done. What an enjoyable rich and flavorful cigar. I will have to grab another or few of these again.
