Mr. Red Toro by Sinistro Cigars

03/19/2020
Dominican Candela & Mexican San Andres, La Aurora Cigar Factory, Sinistro Cigars, Sinistro Mr. Candela Well, the CONVID-19 pandemic is starting to affect the cigar lounges that I frequent and for good reason. Today’s visit to 82nd Avenue Tobacco and Pipe at 09:00a (when they first open) revealed just that; they had closed their indoor smoking lounge but their outdoor section was open.

With my mission to give the Mr. Candela by Sinistro Cigars another try, I headed outside in the cold morning. Fortunately, Chris Shawaluk provided an electric heater to help with the “Morning Chill”.

After a snip with my V-Cutter, I was on my way enjoying what this Dominican Candela & Mexican San Andres wrapped cigar can bring… time to find out what a lot of folks were waxing poetic about.

At the first third, I can see why the Fellas were liking this cigar… this time I was almost able to enjoy this double wrapped candela cigar… so far so good except for the cold and the bus fumes that are present as the outdoor smoking section is very close to a main and well-traveled Avenue (82nd Avenue) in Portland, Oregon.
At almost the halfway point, I decide that smoking in my car would be better than inhaling bus fumes, so I turn off the heater and start to head over to Sellwood Cigar to finish this over there in their parking lot and wait for them to open at 11:00a.

So, not a total failure in this experience and I did get what others experienced with this cigar, but at $9.45… that’s an awfully steep price to pay when there are others that cost less and in my opinion, are top-notch winners.

Anyway, Mr., Candela, if our paths cross again, I might smoke you again… we’ll see.

First Time…
Truth be told, the wrapper blew up on me.

I’ll let this rest and try it again soon.
