Serie V No. 4 (Corona) by Oliva Cigar

Corona, Ecuadorian Habano Sun Grown, No. 4, Oliva Cigar Company, Oliva Serie V I think today was my first time with this Vitola No. 4 Corona by way of Chris Wilson one of the regulars who hang out at Sellwood Cigar… he came by the Sakamoto Office today after completing his errands over on my side of town today.

“Thank You, Chris Wilson!”
Those who are familiar with the Oliva Cigars tobacco and blending know that this is another delicious offering from the cigar company.

We are fortunate to have both the Retailers and the Representative support in the Portland, Oregon area.
Cheers!

Although this has been a humidor staple for many that I know, this is the first one for me. It’s supposed to be the strongest of Oliva’s offerings because of the top-priming Nicaraguan Habano seed sun-grown wrapper.

Because of the small size of the Oliva Serie V No. 4 (Corona), I decide to straight-cut it. On the cold draw earthy tobacco, so far so good.

Once lit, I am joyed to detect aged tobacco and a “little” spice on the retrohale that by the end of the first third was almost brings tears to my eyes. There’s great smoke production from this little cigar, so I’m looking forward to this journey as the black pepper builds and lingers.

I think I might be picking up some bad habits; it hasn’t been that long and I’m almost at the halfway point. The leather starts to appear along with a decent production of peppery smoke still holding on. I need to slow down.

At. Last third and there aren’t any real transitions to speak of, but there’s plenty to keep me happy if you like a peppery cigar, this one is for you.

If I were planning long-term, I might purchase a few more to lay down and rest for a while; we’ll see, I have another to taste test.
