COVID-19 Day 948
Jackpot! Finally! I’ve chosen a specimen of this Serie Gran Reserva 1988 by Warped Cigars that had no burn issues… I’m a very happy guy… Bravo!
First puffs of buttery creamy smooth smoke that delivered oodles of Umami tobacco flavors of leather, milk chocolate, and marshmallows… I’m not messing around with success after the last few attempts to get one of these that burned correctly. Although, there was some minor tunneling that was easily fixed.
My faith in the construction of these has returned… I hope for good.
Until next time…

COVID-19 Day 893:
I was looking forward to a buttery smooth smoking experience today, and I did at least at the beginning of this Serie Gran Reserva 1988 by Warped Cigars.
The first puffs did indeed deliver buttery creamy smooth smoke that delivered oodles of Umami tobacco flavors of leather, milk chocolate, and marshmallows… and then approaching the end of the first third hard wads of ash kept this gem from burning correctly… after struggling well into the last third, I decided that there were other cigars to smoke and I let this one pass.
Let’s hope that construction issues subside with the past few cigars I’ve selected that past week or so… this seems to be a recurring experience of some sort or another; either the cap unravels (thus the use of the punch cutter), or stems create uneven burns… what’s going on Cigar World?!
Oh Well!
Until next time…

COVID-19 Day 353:
This cigar is for when you want something Smoky, Chewy, and Creamy that you can count on and it’s with this Serie Gran Reserva 1988 by Warped Cigars with its more nuanced tobacco flavors… Mmmm Good!
Being that last month (February 2021) marked the third year of my return to the Cigar Hobby, I’m finding that my palate must be changing… or evolving. Where before I was preferring cigars that brought a more full-bodied smoking experience; mostly with the darker Maduro wrappers that I was smoking, I seem to be leaning toward some of the more nuanced Corojo and some Habano wrappers these days as I’m discovering and exploring more of these types of tobaccos.
It’s All Good!

COVID-19 Day 207:
Today was a ground breaking day for me with the Serie Gran Reserva 1988 by Warped Cigars. I now have a new appreciation for this outstanding cigar!
After the first couple of puffs, this cigar showed me what I had been missing the few times that I’ve smoked this before… today, I was on point and ready to pick up the full effect of the Aganorsa Corojo tobacco flavors that I had missed on my previous experiences… I was ready and receptive today!
It appears from my recent cigar selections that 2020 is the Year of Aganorsa Lear for me… lately, I’ve been consuming a bit of these excellent Nicaraguan Aganorsa-Born cigars and I think I’m beginning to “Get It”!
The Serie Gran Reserva 1988 has now reached the Box-Worthy status in the Puff Sumo TupperDor.

The Serie Gran Reserva 1988 by Warped Cigars is a smooth firmly packed cigar that is beautifully constructed.
A cold draw provides barnyard and leather aromas. I can’t wait to fire this up.
Once lit, wow creamy earth and leather with a strong white pepper spice on the retrohale. Wow! Wow! Wow! The char line is razor-sharp
At the middle of the second third, a handsome amount of creamy oaky leathery smoke delivers the white pepper spice still hanging onto each retrohale, the draw in the meantime, is perfect.
I’m smack dab in the middle of this cigar after an hour… Oh boy, this is going to be a long smoke. Wait, the burn is starting to get wonky; we’ll see what develops.
Overall, this is a different cigar than I’ve smoked before. I almost enjoyed the smoke off of the burning foot; it was delicious with the same or slightly more nuanced white pepper spice singing my nostrils.
I have another to smoke after a few more weeks of resting in the TupperDor and we’ll see if this makes the cut.
