COVID-19 Day 640
I was looking forward to sparking this Rocky Patel Royale by Rocky Patel Cigars today in anticipation of my upcoming Sumatra Wrapper journey that I’ll start sometime in near 2022. So, this was kind of a tease since I haven’t paid too much attention to this Rocky Patel Royale in the previous times that I’ve smoked it or at least before I developed this keen interest to explore the Ecuadorian Sumatra Wrapper.
Anyway, through an easy-open draw come volumes of smoke delivering creamy earthy coffee tobacco flavors along with oak, and leather with a mild white pepper spice on the retrohale. A good way to start!
Just finishing the second third… come earthy coffee tobacco flavors and creamy smooth leather with a white pepper spice on the retrohale. The burn is phenomenal leaving a razor-sharp burn. No complaints with this cigar!
Overall, the base flavors that I was looking for and was hopefully expecting were there but didn’t have the “Oomph” I was hoping for. Still, the Rocky Patel Royale by Rocky Patel Cigars is one that I’ll keep
p a few around… when I have a craving for tobacco flavors that this cigar delivers… Yes, I’d definitely smoke it again, and again…

COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 401: 4.0-Mile Cigar
4.0-Miles are in the bag with this “Aged” Rocky Patel Royale in Toro on this morning’s Cigar Walk.
Smoking this “Aged” Rocky Patel Royale was like smoking a cup of earthy black coffee with a touch of creaminess! I gave to remember that I have these Rocky Patel Royale cigars on hand since my surprise discovery of them in the TupperDor last year.
Let’s blaze these Finger-Burners!

COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 51: 4.0-Mile Cigar
Well, I’ll be… today was the first time I’ve smoked the Rocky Patel Royale and what a beauty.
This Box Pressed Toro has been hiding in my TupperDor since July 2018 and I just now noticed them… Go figure!
Besides the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, the first thing that caught my attention was the double binder of Connecticut Broadleaf and Connecticut Shade tobaccos… this is leading me to believe that this will be a fine full-flavored cigar… and the results were spot-on!
Even though this first experience was during my Cigar-Walk this morning, the Rocky Patel Royale held its own against the elements (it was trying to rain). I’m thinking that the next time I smoke this, it will be in the solitude of a quiet Cigar Lounge or my Mobile Cigar Lounge so that I will be able to focus more on some of the nuanced tobacco flavors I may have missed while walking…
OBTW, this was a perfect Four-Mile Cigar right down to the Finger Burning Nub!
