COVID-19 Mobile Cigar Lounge, Day 136:
First time with this newly released Nova Platinum Batch Toro by Nova Cigars… a gift from Jeff Martinez at Sellwood Cigar.
At first blink, this is a gorgeous looking cigar with some heft to it as well… once lit, minerally flavors rode along with the generous outpouring of thick smoke from the foot of this Nova “Platinum Batch” in Toro by Platinum Cigars… I was warned about this from Jeff.
The middle two-thirds of the Platinum Batch were divine and hit the sweet spot of flavors… so much so that it smoked too quickly.
At the last third, I started to get some bitter flavor notes along with a mascarpone (almond paste) flavor so I decided to purge this nub to see if I could correct this… and it worked!
Overall, this was a swell cigar. Although this was a generous gift, I don’t know that I would spend full retail on this cigar… I was hoping it would last longer than the 75-Minutes that I was able to enjoy it.
