COVID-19 Day 804
Candente, Nicaragua Jalapa, Plasencia Alma del Fuego, Plasencia Cigars, Robusto I have to admit that I haven’t smoked too many of these Plasencia Alma del Fuego Candente Robusto by Plasencia Cigars. They are pretty popular with a few of the Fellas…

Today was another opportunity to relax with one of these highly touted cigars… Let’s see what she says!

Thru a perfect draw offering the correct amount of resistance come deep rich earthy tobacco flavors of charred oaky notes and black pepper… the retrohale provides a pepper zing to reinforce those pepper notes.

At the halfway point, I’m getting a blast of espresso and black pepper that have become the dominant tobacco flavors at this point.  The retrohale is a nice black pepper spice.

Overall a very nice “Dark Tobacco” smoking experience with rich warm tobacco flavors offering those flavor notes that I enjoy. I have another from a recent purchase so I’m looking forward to smoking that in a couple of months or so, so Stay Tuned!

COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 151: 2.0-Mile Cigar
Candente, Nicaragua Jalapa, Plasencia Alma del Fuego, Plasencia Cigars This was my second time with the Plasencia Alma del Fuego Candente (Robusto). All I knew was the all the “Fellas” were waxing poetic about this cigar…

After my first experience last December (2019) I was a little perplexed and trying to eke out what the Fellas were fawning about… on today’s Cigar-Walk, I’m left with the same feeling…

My initial draws this morning provided light earthy and woody notes that left me tasting something minerally. At the middle of the cigar, the flavors started to smooth out and become a little more full… more of what I was expecting.

I might up for another try with the Plasencia Alma del Fuego and it will probably when I can sit and focus more on the smoking experience… but for $12-Bucks for a Robusto, I was expecting something that was going to knock my socks off.
