2000 Maduro, Nicaraguan Sun-Grown Maduro, PadronBy reputation alone almost dictates that a Cigar Hobbyist should have a few Padron Series in their TupperDor… The Padron 2000 is the one I’ve decided to choose more for the size and smoking time for when you need a quick “quality” cigar that doesn’t break the wallet.

All things considered, this was an enjoyable experience except for the cap coming loose that I discovered after further reading that the construction of these Padron thousand-series cigars are sometimes suspect of. Once I got over the cap sticking to my lips, I was able to enjoy the cocoa mocha, coffee, and baking spice my first puffs offered.

The draw was perfect all the way through contributing to my “Finger-Burner” rating. The body at the halfway point is a solid Medium as flavors start to ramp up just a little. At this point, I’m noticing the aromas that are wafting toward me… this is good!

At the end, I’m about ready to take back all the negative thoughts I’ve had in the past about these sticks… Cocoa and Cream are what I will dream about this cigar.

I’m about to start a journey exploring the Padron Series. Today I selected this Padron 2000 to begin. Just so you know, I’ve had missed results from the only two Padron Series, the 3,000 and the 4000.

It was the Padron 4000 that committed me to this journey.

Punch-Cut and fire produces a dry tasting smoke that is different from my earlier experience with the 4000. Oops, this is not as rich with flavors that I was hoping for.

At the halfway point and this cigar starts to wake up accompanied by an ash that lasts more than an inch… it’s about time, after 30 minutes later… hmmmmmm bitter earth.

Maybe today’s not the day for this cigar. I’m planning to purchase a Padron Series Sampler soon so I can compare all these different sizes more diligently.
