First impressions run long…
My first perfect draw of the Menelik cigar by Foundation Cigars gave me mouthfuls of earthy black pepper tobacco flavors with a more than mild spice retrohale (it was there, but not too intrusive).
I’m impressed right off the bat with how smooth the draw is on this cigar.
At the halfway point, the flavors remain pretty much the same except for some cocoa trying to come through with a retrohale that has tamed down just a bit to round out it spicier edges.
The last third is delivering… deep rich tobacco flavors that would usually bring me back for more. The retrohale has tamed down a bit and I’m fine with that. I have another that I’ll let rest for a while and then we’ll see what happens.
