COVID-19 Day 793
The other day I was visiting Isaac Miller (@The_Nothing_) at 11th Avenue Liquor when I saw these Le Carême in Robusto by Crowned Heads… I had to grab a couple since I hadn’t smoked these in almost a year! … and I’m glad I did!
Even though my palate was still struggling from this cold I’ve been nursing the exquisite tobacco flavors from this Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped and Ecuadorian Sumatra bound cigar delivered! Next time I’ll make sure I’m operating on all cylinders before I spark this cigar again.
Even through my murky sinuses the earthy tobacco flavors of chocolate, coffee bean, and soft black pepper came through loud and clear.
I can’t wait for the next time… and perhaps I should Box-Up on these Le Carêmes too.

COVID-19 Day 456
This Dark Chocolate, Rustic looking Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped Le Carême Robusto by Crowned Heads and I have reunited again after almost 2-years!
I was looking forward to today’s experience with this “stallar” rich tobacco blend… the anticipated Chocolate flavors came through loud and clear on the cold draw making me want more… Once sparked, earthy tobacco flavors of chocolate, coffee bean, and soft black pepper that translates nicely on the retrohale come to me through a perfect draw needing no double puffs only needing a sip to enjoy the plentiful smoke that this Le Carême provides.
I need to smoke these more often for sure!

I remember all too well my first Le Carême cigar by Crowned Heads gifted to me by Cigar Sensei aka #bmwMark (Pacific Motorsports in Portland, Oregon) way back in October 2018 as I was just getting back into the cigar hobby and getting my cigar legs under me; so-to-speak.
With a beautifully simple cigar band contrasting against a dark rustic Connecticut “Grade-A” Broadleaf this box-pressed cigar erupts with flavors I seek in a cigar, and this particular cigar delivers… “Chocolate Soufflé”.
Nuanced flavors of wood (cedar), coffee, and some sweet fruit (black cherry) add to the smoking experience. This combined with the deep rich earthy tobacco flavors or chocolate, leather, and coffee with just the correct amount of pepper spice on the retrohale and this cigar is going to have a home in my TupperDor.

Le Careme Robusto by Crowned Heads. What a perfect morning cigar and a great companion to my morning coffee with cream… Ahhhhhh a morning delight every time I light this cigar.
I think this was the last of my Le Careme Robustos, so I’ll have to replenish with another 5-pack or maybe it’s time to commit to a box this time.
If you couldn’t tell, these cigars are one of my favorites, especially to start my day since I know I can count on this to provide those flavors that are soon to be defining my “Checkbox” of sought-after tobacco flavors.
If you’re a fan of the “Broadleaf” (Grade A Dark) and Ecuadoran Binders, then this is a cigar for you.
The Le Carême (pronounced “Kuh-Rem”) is produced in collaboration with Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr. (2018, Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year) and his Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. factory.

Connecticut Broadleaf in the Morning, That’s How I Roll
Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate… If I didn’t know any better I’d think I’m about to take a bite from a chocolate candy bar. The aroma and cold draw are inviting me in. I can’t wait to light this morning’s Crowned Heads Le Careme cigar.
The first draw is perfect delivering tons of chewy creamy soufflé smoke. If you couldn’t tell I’m no stranger to this cigar; it’s a perfect morning smoke. Well rounded earthy flavors envelop my senses; there’s no pepper spice to speak of on the retrohale, it’s a mild cigar at this point.
Almost at the end of the first third; if I weren’t concerned about exploring different cigars, flavors, and blends, I’d say this cigar along with a few others lands squarely in my sweet spot of flavors; Connecticut Broadleaf (Grade A Dark) wrapper and Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. More please.

I’ve had several of the Le Careme by Crowned Heads. As a matter of fact, the Le Careme is the first Crowned Heads cigar I’ve smoked, and I’ve been curious about the other smokes in their line-up of cigars. This journey never ends. Today I’m paying attention to the Le Careme by Crowned Heads.
Breakfast Maduro
The cold draw welcomes familiar flavors, sweet cocoa, coffee, and tobacco. Soon to follow, and I’m welcoming big mouthfuls of dry cocoa and pepper and definite spice on the retrohale. Ah yes, a familiar smoke greets me this morning from a familiar companion.
I’m not wasting any time enjoying this quickly to the halfway point where creamy oaky wood is starting to show up. This is probably the fastest I’ve worked my way through a cigar. Everything is rolling along letting me know that all is good.
