La Promesa Lancero by My Father Cigars

COVID-19 Day 694:
Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro, Jose “Pepin” García, Lancero, My Father Cigars, My Father La Promesa The La Promesa Lancero by My Father Cigars is an exquisite cigar… through a perfect draw, I get earthy tobacco flavors of coca, coffee, and leather with a zippy spicy retrohale and I’m very happy with that result!

I also had an epiphany while enjoying this Lancero Vitola of the La Promesa. Being that I had smoked the Robusto Grande a larger (5.5″ x 54) Vitola a few weeks ago, I noticed right away the effect of having a smaller gauge cigar deliver tobacco flavors more directly… almost “mainlined” to my palate. Those aforementioned tobacco flavors came through loud and clear for the remainder of this cigar smoking experience… Wow! I didn’t want to put this down, but I know I had to or it would get too hot to smoke.

If I don’t exercise my discipline, I may end up purchasing a box of each Vitola… I don’t think my Bookkeeper would appreciate that.

I can’t wait until the next time…

Double Ligero, La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Lancero Lancero, LFD, Litto Gomez DiezToday was my first time with the Lancero version of the La Promesa. I smoked the La Promesa in Toro a few weeks ago and had a pleasant experience with it so during Lancero February… why not!

My first few puffs brought me back to the Toro Vitola with mouthfuls of creamy earthy leathery smoke along with a retrohale that was a little more ramped up than my prior experience with the La Promesa Toro.

The construction and draw were perfect creating a razor sharp burn and draw.

At the second third almost to the halfway point, a nuttiness evolves into full-blown almond paste (mascarpone) type flavors with earthy tobacco flavors hanging in there.

Overall, this is a dandy of a cigar and I plan to enjoy more of these in the near future; both of the Lancero vitola and I look forward to exploring some of the other sizes that the La Promesa by My Father has to offer.
