Today was my first time with the Dapper Cigars La Madrina and my expectations were a little high from all the “hype” that was bestowed upon me…
After my “Perfect Cutter” straight-cut, floral bready flavors came to me on a very open draw with no spice on the retrohale. The Habano wrapper had that paper mache paper feel to it on my lips… something to note.
A half-hour in and I’m noticing that the construction is beautiful but not much else up to this point. I was hoping for richer flavor considering the San Andreas binder and Pennsylvania Broadleaf in the filler, but still a great open draw and tons of smoke… it’s getting creamier now with no bitterness.
At about the last third, the pepper spice showed up on the retrohale; the tobacco flavors are still the same and consistent.
This took about 90-minutes before I laid it down. I have another one of the Dapper Cigars La Madrina that I think I’ll let rest for at least another month before I try it again.
