La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Lancero

02/20/2020
Double Ligero, La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Lancero Lancero, LFD, Litto Gomez Diez Should it surprise me that this is a beautifully wrapped cigar; should it surprise me that the deep rich flavors of this Lancero vitola kept me company for three hours… I don’t think so, and this wasn’t the Oscuro blend, just the plain ol’ La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Lancero with its simple Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper.

My first puffs this morning from the exquisite LFD Double Ligero in Lancero delivered woody black pepper with a retrohale to match… and pleasantly spicy too!

This is my first time with this vitola in Lancero and it is starting out to be a cigar with complex flavors and I’m going to guess it will be working its way to full-on strength too. After all, as the name of this cigar implies… Double Ligero; the top priming leaves of the tobacco plant that delivers the most punch in flavors and strength.

At the second third woody notes give way to more complex tobacco flavors with black pepper leading the way. All through a perfect draw, the retrohale still has some punch to keep me going.

At the last third, almonds and leather arrive and provide a lasting finish. The retrohale remains the same if not ramped up a bit.

As the case with most Lanceros that I smoke, I sip them as opposed to macho puffing that I might be more prone to do with a Robusto. That said I was amazed at how long I had been smoking this LFD Double Ligero Lancero. I don’t think I’ll have time to smoke the other cigar that I brought along today.
