I had an opportunity to purchase a 5-pack sampler from La Flor Dominicana of a few of their select Lancero’s. A couple of new Lancero cigars in this sampler caught my eye; this LFD Coronado Lancero and the La Flor Dominicana Cameroon Cabinet Lancero that I smoked yesterday with great appreciation.
Let’s get going with today’s La Flor Dominicana Coronado Lancero.
Creamy smooth leather and black pepper flavors greet me on my very first puffs of this LFD Coronado Lancero through a perfect draw, the retrohale provides a blast of spice that quickly dissipates. The burn is razor-sharp.
At the halfway point, there are not many transitions other than the black pepper flavor is now dominant over the leather tobacco flavors rounding up the finish. The retrohale has tamed down a bit now soft and smooth leather and black pepper.
This was a very enjoyable and mellow cigar for my first-time experience with it. Quite different than what I’m used to with the typical “La Flor Dominicana” smoking experience.
