Today’s La Colmena Amado No. 44 by Warped Cigars has been resting for about a month now, so I think this should be ready to fire up.
A snip and a cut and I immediately received creamy tasting tobacco flavored with a black pepper spice that lingered on the sides of my tongue and the retrohale that singes my nostrils as I type this.
At the second half, it dawns on me that this is one of the very few times that I’ve consciously observed the Ecuador Deflorada wrapper that provides a unique taste; almost vegetal? Definitely woody, oaky, yep, that’s it!
At the last third and pretty much the same except for more sweetness coming through.
This is a really enjoyable cigar that those cigar aficionados around me just love. I on the other hand am hesitant to spend the $14.00 that this requires sometimes. Just Sayin’!

As a practice, I try to purchase 2 or each cigar that I wish to vet and confirm my thoughts on. One is always the case, but if I don’t like it or something goes sideways, I always have another to give it another shot.
That was the case for the La Colmena Amado No. 44 by Warped Cigars this afternoon. I was excited to get back to this cigar that I haven’t had since last June and in my haste, I’m afraid I should have let these rest for a week or so before I fired it up.
