COVID-19 Day 896:
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ecuadorian Habano, Habana Vuelta Abajo, HVA, La Barba Purple, Tabacalera William Ventura Today was my third time smoking this La Barba Purple by La Barba Cigars / Caldwell Cigars. It’s been over a year since I last smoked this…

Once lit… not bad, not bad…. through and perfect draw offering just the correct amount of resistance slightly sweet natural tobacco flavors of wood, oak, earthy graham cracker, with some leather are coming to me at this early stage. The retrohale is providing a nice leather finish… we’re off to a good start at the first third (30 mins).

At the last third, the creaminess of this cigar becomes apparent, which along with the leather flavors made me happy!

A decent smoking experience today could prompt me to light this again…

Stay Smoky
Stay Chill

COVID-19 Day 424
Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Ecuadorian Habano, Habana Vuelta Abajo, HVA, La Barba Purple, Tabacalera William Ventura One thing for certain is that this La Barba Purple by Caldwell Cigars is a steady burner/smoldered… Needing little attention or maintenance along the way.

Today was my second time with this La Barba Purple. I was needing a little more coaxing to bring me on board with this cigar from La Barba (Caldwell Cigars).

Woody, oaky, earthy, graham cracker, some leather, and nice pepper spice on the retrohale were the tobacco flavors that were delivered to me.

Even with the HVA Ecuadorian leaf wrapper; I was left just short of convincing myself to purchase more of these. HVA is “Habana Vuelta Abajo” which basically specifies a district in the Pinar del Rio province of Cuba (seed that originated from that place in Cuban, but was grown in Ecuador).

I’d definitely smoke this again if it were gifted to me.

Stay Smoky
Stay Chill

I get to say, “I tried it”. She looks beautiful, but… nothing too exciting; very pleasant.

This was suggested and I bit; good thing I have another one just in case my tasting was because of a foul mood or something.

The Caldwell La Barba Purple came with a very loose and open draw and a soft cap-end (weird); first flag. The pre-light was a very airy tobacco flavor with black pepper in there that would last the rest of the way.

The soft cap-end never became an issue and the burn was even all the way for a good smoking experience where the flavors were a bit lacking for me today.

Anyway, Stay Chill
Stay Smokey
