At the start of this tried and tryue JFR Maduro, I was greeted with the anticipated mouthfuls of bold tobacco flavors from the Mexican San Andrés Maduro wrapper. The initial draw reveals a plethora of rich and earthy notes with a delightful combination of dark chocolate, espresso, and black pepper. The Nicaraguan Aganorsa fillers shine through, adding a layer of complexity with nutty undertones and a subtle spiciness. As you continue to smoke, the retrohale introduces an invigorating peppery kick that harmonizes with the earthy profile.
Moving into the second third, the JFR Maduro starts to unveil a smoother and creamier character. The dark chocolate and espresso notes remain prominent, now joined by some leather notes. The Nicaraguan Aganorsa binder plays its part in enhancing the overall balance and providing a subtle sweetness that complements the robustness of the fillers. The retrohale during this stage brings back a touch of the black pepper, adding a zesty flair to the creamy experience.
In the final third, the JFR Maduro reaches its crescendo, intensifying the flavor profile to a gratifying climax. The dark chocolate and espresso notes deepen further, accompanied by a savory leather undertone and a tinge of sweetness from the binder. The Nicaraguan Aganorsa fillers deliver a bold and satisfying finish, leaving a lasting impression of rich and complex flavors. The retrohale in this stage amplifies the peppery spice, concluding the smoking experience with a robust and invigorating flourish.
Overall, the JFR Maduro is a testament to the art of blending, offering a captivating journey of bold flavors and seamless transitions. From the earthy start to the creamy and leathery middle, and finally, to the intense and satisfying finish, this cigar promises a truly enjoyable and memorable smoke. So, embrace the JFR Maduro with a discerning palate and let its rich and diverse flavors envelop your senses. Enjoy the journey!

COVID-19 Day 918:
If you’ve been following, you know that I normally reserve this flavorful JFR Maduro Super Toro by Aganorsa Leaf for my coveted morning Cigar-Walks… today I decided to take it indoors for further examination and pleasure.
The JFR Maduro is a rustic-looking cigar… a little rough around the edges with a pigtail cap and closed footer… one of these days I’ll remember that as I tug on a cold draw… Anyway, once lit, dark Maduro tobacco flavors take over immediately with the dominant flavor being of some charred charcoal wood… think BBQ. The touch of Maduro sweetness makes this interesting addition to the tobacco flavors she delivers. The retrohale offers up a little black pepper spice without the “zing”.
So far so good. It sure is nice to get reacquainted with this indoors. I think I should do this more often.

Overall, still a very satisfying cigar considering the outdoor conditions.
