JFR Lunatic Torch Visionaries

COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 150: 4.0-Mile Cigar
Aganorsa Leaf, Casa Fernández, Corojo 99, Esteli, Jalapa, JFR Cigars, JFR Lunatic, JFR Lunatic Torch, Nicaragua, Torch, Visionaries Let’s make no mistake about this 2020 release of the JFR Lunatic Torch Visionaries (Toro). This is an outstanding cigar in my book. So much so that I went “Geek” on it and started to do some digging…

Come to find out, there was an earlier release of the Lunatic Torch way back in 2011. Supposedly, these were still available for Retails Sales if one where to ask and request them for their Cigar Shop. Additionally, the blend is supposed to be the same.

Well, after finding some of the old Red Label Lunatic Torches for sale online, I purchased a few and had to smoke one yesterday in advance of today’s smoking adventure with the most recent release of the Torch… and the experiences were different.

I don’t have the confidence in my palate yet to say for certain what affected the differences in these two identically blended cigars except for the “Age” of the 2011 release. I would have thought that the older “Aged” cigar would produce more flavors; I was wrong in that assumption… at least with my samples.

This newer Lunatic Torch was deeply satisfying right down to the Finger Burning Nub. I try this experiment again in a month or so and see what develops.

Aganorsa Leaf, Casa Fernández, Corojo 99, Esteli, Jalapa, JFR Cigars, JFR Lunatic, JFR Lunatic Torch, Nicaragua, Torch, Visionaries Oh me, Oh my! Where have you been all my cigar-smoking life?

I had no idea what to expect other than the reputation of the Tobacco used to blend this very enjoyable cigar. From several reviews of this cigar, these cigars are made with 100% Aganorsa Leaf tobacco. A Nicaraguan Puro made with AGANORSA Leaf tobacco, with a Corojo 99 wrapper grown in Jalapa, while the double binder and fillers feature tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa.

After observing this pedigree of tobacco in the blend… I decided to jump in… why not?

My only regret… only purchasing one of these… I want more, please!
