COVID-19 Day 861
Well, everything started out all fine and dandy with earthy cedar, perfume-like baking spices, and pepper with a zingy white pepper spice on the retrohale … and then… For the first half inch or so, I was having challenges keeping this cigar lit… it’s been hanging out in the TupperDor since June 2021 (over a year ago)… go figure!
At the halfway point the burning issues are still lingering meaning that I had] to keep actively puffing away at this to keep it lit… creating a hot mess if I don’t watch out. This means the tobacco flavors that should be coming easily to me are a struggle and probably not what they’re meant to be.
Note to self: Maybe next time I’ll dry box the one I choose to smoke for a few days and see if that helps.
At the beginning of the last third, there was a big ball of hard ash that I had to mush away and start over so to speak … I ended up quitting after another ten minutes of trying to get this to burn correctly… not enough time and too many other cigars to smoke!
Smoke Time: 2 hours of struggle

COVID-19 Day 651
I promise next time I smoke this I’ll pay better attention and take notes.
I was luxuriating and enjoying this HVC Serie A Perlas (Corona Gorda) by HVC Cigars today, so leave me alone!
Until next time…

COVID-19 Day 529
The HVC “Serie A” Perlas (Corona Gorda) by HVC Cigars is a new and welcomed cigar in the Cigar-Rotation. Yep, I’m a sucker for Nicaragua Corojo Tobacco, especially the Aganorsa Leaf kind!
I’m definitely looking forward to smoking more of these fine and dandy cigars… Box-Worthy!

COVID-19 Day 476
A decent performance today with this HVC Serie A Perlas (Corona Gorda) by HVC Cigars today at Sellwood Cigar… I was curious to see how the draw would evolve with this cigar since I purchased it about a month ago… now that it’s had time to rest, I was pleasantly happy with it.

COVID-19 Day 442
I just had a feeling and knew that there would be a Flavor-Rainbow if I could get the draw to work correctly on this HVC Serie A Perlas (Corona Gorda) by HVC Cigars.
By way of Ed Ryan (Regional HVC Cigar Representative) of Portland, Oregon fame, I was gifted this Serie A Perlas (Corona Gorda) to try again after struggling to get a decent draw from my first purchase. And, I’m really glad he did as I’m trying to vet some of these HVC Cigars for the upcoming HVC Cigar Event at Sellwood Cigar on June 19, 2021.
Anyway, what I had been hoping for; creamy malty cocoa, dark coffee, cinnamon, and subtle sweet vanilla somewhere in the background with loads of White pepper on the retrohale… this HVC Serie A is speaking to me!
Savory and sweet, this cigar has a unique balance of nuanced tobacco flavors, good construction and a perfect burn are my rewards for giving this cigar another try and I’m so happy I did.
More Please!

COVID-19 Day 431
If it weren’t for the simple fact that this HVC Serie A Perlas (Corona Gorda) by HVC Cigars is a delicious cigar, I wouldn’t have tried so hard to get a decent draw from of this. After talking to some of the Fellas, it appears that this could be a characteristic of this Vitola… let’s hope not!
