HVC La Rosa 520 Exquisitos

Corona Extra, Exquisitos, HVC Cigars, Jalapa, La Rosa 520, Nicaragua, Nicaragua Corojo 99 At the first third of this beautifully constructed HVC La Rosa 520 Exquisitos, woody earthy smoke with a touch of cocoa is delivered through a perfect draw with just the correct amount of resistance and with a retrohale of subtle spice… is there something minty that lingers on my lips…Hmmm

At the second third after 45 minutes dark coffee enters the picture with earthy cocoa riding right behind it. The retrohale has a soft leather flavor with no spice to speak of.

At the last third smoky earthy cocoa take me the rest of the way. The retrohale is still mild but providing reinforcement of the cocoa flavors

For my second time with the HVC La Rosa 520 Exquisitos, it wasn’t the “eye-opener” that my first experience provided, but this was still a good cigar. I have another resting, so we’ll see what she brings next time.

At first light of the HVC La Rosa 520 Exquisitos, the first thing that comes to mind is Wow!

As I was enjoying my first puffs of the HVC La Rosa 520, I was trying to discern those flavors that I usually am able to detect… but, I guess my pallet hasn’t developed enough to pick out any specific flavor(s) other than knowing firsthand of its smooth, balanced, and creamy smoke with a touch mocha mixed in there with a similarly smooth retrohale.

In the second third, I’m more inclined to sit back and enjoy this beautiful cigar instead of being too analytical about it. Through a perfect draw, the delicious smoke is coming to me as leather and coffee with the previously mentioned mocha still present. I’m diggin’ this cigar.

At the last third, the flavors have ramped up with black pepper coming to the forefront leaving a lasting finish of black pepper that coats my tongue.

I have one more of these to smoke and I’m sure that I will enjoy just as much and embrace it with a search for more to purchase. This cigar the HVC La Rosa 520 is dang good!
