COVID-19 Day 440:
Made with 100% Aganorsa Leaf tobacco, I had a feeling that this should be a “Dandy Cigar” with its Jalapa Corojo ‘99 wrapper from Aganorsa Leaf.
Today I was vetting this HVC 500 Anniversario by HVC Cigars for an upcoming HVC Cigar Event at Sellwood Cigar in Portland, Oregon in a couple of weeks… here’s what I found today; oaky bread and leather tobacco flavors with a razor sharp burn producing an ash that hangs on for an inch or so… The draw is perfect for delivering soft black pepper on the retrohale.
This HVC 500 Anniversary had a great mouthfeel with copious amounts of smoke.
I think I should probably have a few of these on hand and see how they age. I think there were less than 2,000 boxes released, so I had better grab a few to hold to.

COVID-19 Day 312:
As I’ve said many times before I don’t think I’ve smoked an HVC Cigar that I didn’t like… This HVC 500 Anniversario by HVC Cigars is no different.
Thru a perfect draw, creamy smooth chewy smoke delivers earthy woody tobacco flavors with a bright pepper spice on the retrohale… This cigar is smoky!
And before you know it, I’m at the last third with this smooth chewy smoky delicious HVC 500 Anniversario… The flavors were pretty consistent thus far except now the flavor has ramped up slightly presenting a nutty almost almond paste flavor with a tad bit spicier retrohale… I’m loving this cigar so far…
I probably should purchase one to finally vet it for future purchases. This was a generous gift from BOTL Curran Fouts.
