Hot Cake Laguito #4 (Petite Corona) by HVC Cigars

COVID-19 Day 938:
Aganorsa Leaf, Corojo 2006, Hot Cake, HVC Cigars, Laguito #4, Mexican San Andres, Petite Corona
Wow! I can’t believe that the last time I smoke this Hot Cake Laguito #4 (Petite Corona) by HVC Cigars was when HVC Cigar Master Blender Reinier Lorenzo at the HVC Cigar Event at Sellwood Cigar (06/19/2021).

I’ve always been a fan of this cigar’s tobacco flavors ever since my first puff from this Nicaraguan Corojo 99 from Jalapa and Nicaraguan Corojo 98 from Estelí blend of some of m favorite tobaccos from Aganorsa Leaf. The only concern I’ve had are the snug draw issues I’ve had with this in the past… today kinda started out to be the same (punch cut) but I persevered and was able to eke out an hour of enjoyment from this tasty treat.

The Mexican San Andrés wrapper on this blend makes way for tobacco flavors with notes of wood, earth, chocolate, pepper, and a natural sweetness that coats your palate the entire duration of the burn. I was even getting some charred BBQ wood flavors toward the last third.

Yep! This is a dandy of a little cigar… I will definitely smoke this again… just hoping the draw would correct itself, but I think that’s wishful thinking.

Until next time…

COVID-19 Day 453
Aganorsa Leaf, Corojo 2006, Hot Cake, HVC Cigars, Laguito #4, Mexican San Andres, Petite Corona Finally!!! I retrieved a specimen of this Hot Cake Laguito #4 (Petite Corona) by HVC Cigars that had a decent draw… and on the most appropriate day because I got to meet HVC Cigar Master Blender Reinier Lorenzo at the HVC Cigar Event at Sellwood Cigar today.

As many of you already know, this Hot Cake cigar by HVC Cigars is a pretty awesome smoke… the only issue I had with this and a couple of other SKUs from HVC was the difficult and smug draw… straight from Master Blender Reinier Lorenzo… “…We fired those rollers who were responsible for those cigars!”… Bravo!

I can now look forward to a full and complete experience with those HVC Cigars that were impeded by poor construction.

COVID-19 Day 430
Aganorsa Leaf, Corojo 2006, Hot Cake, HVC Cigars, Laguito #4, Mexican San Andres, Petite Corona If it weren’t for the simple fact that this HVC Hot Cake Laguito by HVC Cigars is a delicious cigar, I would try so hard to get a decent draw from of this. After talking to some of the Fellas, it appears that this could be a characteristic of this Vitola… let’s hope not!

I just might have to invest in one of those “pokers” that will drill out those overpacked tobaccos and stems.

Anyway, the delicious Earthy Cocoa tobacco flavors keep me coming back for more… hoping for a different “draw” experience next time.
