Gloria (Corona)

Last month I discovered a La Gloria Cubana Serie R Maduro and was impressed with the full flavor delivery so I sought out a sampler of La Gloria Cubana cigars.

Now, this is probably no secret to most of you experienced cigar smokers, but after some due diligence (research) I found out that this is intended to be a “Cubenesque”, rich, full-bodied Dominican Republic cigar. After smoking the Serie R Maduro, I would tend to agree. So, I found a sampler of 8 “90-Rated” La Gloria Cubana cigars from Famous-Smoke.com and now I have a tasting journey ahead of me.

Today I smoked the La Gloria Cubana Gloria (5.5” x 43 Corona).

I straight cut this smaller 43-gauge cigar in search of it more concentrated flavors. On the cold draw I got whiff of barnyard and black pepper from this old Cuban-Style cigar.

Once lit, a loose draw provides abundant spicy smoke and on the retrohale. Halfway through the pepper is coating my tongue for a lasting finish.

I can’t wait to study the rest of these cigars from this sampler

I had purchased my first La Gloria Cubana for vetting last June. I can’t wait to set aside some time to vet these classic cigars.
