San Cristobal Eleganica by Ashton Cigars

02/26/2019
This will be my third or fourth San Cristobal Elegancia by Ashton Cigars. I’ve been trying since last May when I received these to get what folks have been talking about. The most off-putting past experiences I’ve had was the “paper mache” mouth-feel I’ve had with these cigars in the past.

Today started out the same with that dry paper mache, paper bag kind of mouth-feel, and then all of a sudden, everything changed after the first third. I was smoking along exchanging eMails with photographer Jaime Bosworth from Bosworth Photography Studios in Portland, Oregon when I realized that the flavors from this San Cristobal Elegancia were different; creamy, butter smooth earthy tobacco with the pepper spice on the retrohale that is fitting of the cigars DNA having been co-blended with Pepin Garcia.

Hmmm, I had been handing these out freely from my stash; that might have to change from now on. I’ve had a change of heart about this cigar. Maybe the few months of resting made the difference.

I can’t wait to blaze another one.
