Today, I tried to pay attention to this Nicaraguan Puro, My Father’s Don Pepin Garcia Original Blue Label that delivered a chewy mouthful of pepper spice and woody smoke right off the bat. The “Cubenesque” triple cap got my punch-cut this morning.
The draw was perfect with just the correct amount of resistance; copious amounts of smoke follow, no pepper spice on the retrohale but it’s slightly on my tongue providing for a lasting finish.
At the final third and this cigar seems to be mellowing a bit. The pepper is gone creamy earth appears and I smile. Yes, this deserves a spot in my TupperDor

I think this was my third Don Pepin Garcia Original but it’s been a while since my first one a few months ago and I’m sure I wasn’t paying attention or, for certain, my palette was even more uneducated than it is today.
I don’t remember the draw being this tight but it decided not to be an issue as I went along. The smoke was plentiful with this medium to full-bodied cigar.
Dry wood and a bit of pepper at the start that mellows out at the halfway point and the draw eventually improved and continued to provide abundant chewy smoke.
I’m happy at this point because I’m working (reading) and I don’t have to pay attention to this low-maintenance cigar.
