Perfection — #SakamotoHappy

I purchased my second box of Curivari Gloria De Leons Gran Dominio Hermosos about a month ago, this time in the Robusto size (I also reordered the Prominente too). Today let’s see what some extra time (resting) will add to my smoking experience with these fabulous cigars.
Pre-light cold draw with just a small snip of my straight cutter and I’m inhaling sweet cocoa. Fond memories are coming back to me.
Once lit, mouthfuls of dry sweet red peppers, and cocoa, I can detect the cedar coming on and I’m only at the first inch of one of my favorite cigars. This Robusto size is off to a good start.
Everything that I’ve become accustomed to from the Curivari Gloria De Leon cigar is not disappointing me. Smooth mouthfuls of chewy smoke of earth, leather, earth and a little dry fruity sweetness in the background to make it interesting.
I also love the way this cigar is responding to the month-long rest I gave it. Until the next time, I smoke one of the Gloria De Leon by Curivari again.

From what I have read and researched, Curivari’s mission statement is to make cigars the old fashioned Cuban way. So far as can tell, “Mission Accomplished”. Those who I’ve spoken to that have knowledge of this cigar (Cigar Sensei aka @bmwMark) will agree that this one of the best-kept secrets in the Cigar Universe.
Perfectly rolled and attractive to look at, I couldn’t wait to light my first ever Robusto sized Gran Dominio Hermosos. Here we go.
The punch-cut cold draw of some faint unknown spice and mild coffee get me rolling along… I’ll have to remind myself that these just arrived last week, so my impatience may deliver results that I’m not expecting… yes, I have expectations for this cigar.
I’m just past the first third and I’m getting sweet woody notes that are coating my tongue; interesting… Cherry? The char line is razor-sharp and the smoke billows. #SakamotoHappy.
I have to mention that the Robusto size is in response to my love of the Toro sized 2-hour cigar; hopefully, this will require less of a time investment, not that I’m complaining, but sometimes we just don’t have all day.
It’s been an hour and I just hit the halfway point… FYI, this is another slow smoke; so be prepared to relax with it for a while. #NoRush.
At the last third, the strength is starting to pick up; maybe because I haven’ Eaten since 6-hours ago; I better order breakfast.
