COVID-19, Day 946
This “Aged” Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Maduro starts off with earthy black pepper and wood notes coming my way thru a perfect draw… a nice rich delivery of full-flavored tobacco flavors with a spicy retrohale of pepper and something sweet and floral on the finish.
Almost two hours in and I’m at the last third that’s proving to be the sweet spot with this gem… full bodied tobacco flavors keep me company the rest of the way… the retrohale still packs a zippy punch but it has tamed down a bit following the lead of some softer more well-rounded flavors.
This Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Maduro was a joy to smoke. I couldn’t pick up any of the usual tobacco flavors that I could identify, but this was full of deep rich, and scrumptious tobacco flavors… I think I have one more of these left and I can’t wait to smoke it again.

COVID-19, Day 172
This was my first time with the Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Maduro and I blew it! … Operator Error!!!!
What started out to be a fine and dandy smoking experience with this Nicaraguan Shade Grown Corojo Maduro wrapped Casa Fernandez Aniversario Cuban 109 Maduro became a mess all because I grabbed the wrong cigar this morning… what turned out to be over-humidified and the result was a lot of tunneling that I had to deal with not so much on the front end, but toward the middle and last third of this cigar.
Next time I’ll know better… Live and Learn!
