COVID-19 Day 360:
Even through a perfect draw, this First Time experience with the Eastern Standard Sungrown Magic LE (Limited Edition) 2020 by Caldwell Cigars left me nonplussed at the beginning of this highly touted cigar. My first few puffs delivered dry slightly earthy tobacco flavors with a white pepper retrohale that was mild and meek for this inaugural start.
With a promise of opening up as I ventured into the second third, it delivered only slight improvements the further I smoked this Eastern Standard Sungrown Magic LE 2020. This is the reason why I usually purchase two of a new cigar for my inaugural experience… so; I’ll let the other one rest for a bit to see if that brings any improvements. For the MSRP ($$$) of this cigar, I expected more. Maybe I should revisit the original release of the Caldwell Sungrown Eastern Standard Sungrown.
