COVID-19 Day 1,002:
Today I get to “Spark” this Blackened Cigars “M81” in Toro by Drew Estate for the first time today, and I’m looking forward to it.
This is a surprise to me… the M81 is a collaboration with Metallica’s frontman James Hetfield and Blackened Whiskey. I think my brother @BlakeSakamoto used to hang with those guys back in the day (1996?)… Anyway, let’s get this blazin’!
Wow, after I lit this I decided to read up on what’s inside…. No wonder… this cigar is a Maduro blend through and through!
In true Drew Estate style, the draw was perfect and the burn is razor at this moment, delivering deep rich “Dry” earthy tobacco flavors of dark rich coffee, dark cocoa, black pepper, and a wisp of mesquite. The retrohale proved big black pepper with a slight zing on the finish…. This is a Maduro blend thru and thru indeed!
At the second half, not much has changed, just more of those Maduro tobacco flavors coming thru loud and clear. Dry mesquite is the featured flavor… with a retrohale that delivers plenty of black pepper flavors.
This is reminding me of the Camacho Triple Maduro I smoke the other day… Go figure!?
