COVID-19 Day 676
It’s been a while since I’ve smoked this cigar and I’m loving it! When my stash of these Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Rothschild Masivo (Robusto) are gone I will surely miss these.
Once lit, familiar tobacco flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and black pepper with a fruity finish welcomed me with a zingy pepper spice on the retrohale. The burn and draw are spot-on perfect!
At the last ending third, this was enjoyably like smoking a cup of very dark rich coffee. I had a good time enjoying this deep Rich flavorful blend.
Until next time…

COVID-19 Day 584
This “Out of U.S. Production” cigar in the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Rothschild Masivo (Robusto) was a perfect example of Love at First Puff! This is one of my first cigar loves when I returned to the cigar hobby.
I’m trying to make my box of these satisfying Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Rothschild Masivos that I smoke very sparingly now since they’re out of production. This is the first I’ve smoked this since August 2020!
Once lit, deep rich espresso and dark cocoa powder tobacco flavors invade my senses with pepper spice and a touch of sweet leather on the retrohale… all a very welcomed and appreciated!
Coming upon the second third, malty chocolate tobacco flavors join the party adding to the increased enjoyment of this dandy cigar.
Until next time…

COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 148: 3.0-Mile Cigar
Normally, I’m waxing poetic about the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Rothschild Masivo (Robusto), but today this cigar sure smoked down fast! Too Fast!!
I’ve been In the habit lately of only bringing along “The” cigar for the planned morning trek depending on how far I choose to walk… and this Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro came up about a mile short for me this morning… I’ll have to make sure the humidity is correct… but when I first started out, the cigar did feel a little “light”… Oh well, next time.

OK, how can anything be bad with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper? I know, a bit of an over-the-top comment to make, but to look at this Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro, Yesterday’s Dream Cigar; it’s beautiful. I’ve been waiting since last October to get reacquainted with this cigar again.
My pre-light straight-cut cold draw sent me notes of dry cocoa with the correct amount of resistance.
Once lit, tons of full rich earthy smoke comes forth; there’s a hint of something that tastes like mushrooms or black olives in there somewhere too. #SakamotoHappy, I’m smiling, these are the flavors and cigar experience that I remember.
At the last third the flavors have ramped up and smoothed out along with the strength; I can feel my cheeks are starting to sweat.
Time to order some lunch.
