COVID-19 Cigar Walk, Day 138: 4.0-Mile Cigar
Arturo Fuente, Claro, Connecticut Claro, Flor Fina 8-5-8, LonsdaleWhat an underrated find in the Arturo Fuente Flor Fina 858 Claro (Candela). This cigar is fast becoming one of my favorite walking sticks, especially when I want something different to start my day.

I’m amazed at the “classic” flavors that come with this “Green” (Candela) cigar… and more so that it is a long-lasting smoke (4-miles worth), for some of you, that means great “Value”.

I’m down to my last 858 Claro, so I guess I’ll be on a mission to acquire some more of these dandy cigars.

I wanted something different and lighter today, so I stopped by Timber Valley Tobacco in Beaverton, Oregon, and purchased a couple of Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Claros and a Fuente Hemingway Work of Art to stash away in my TupperDor for later.

The Fuente 8-5-8 Claro is a simple and very enjoyable candela-wrapped cigar. It hit the spot for me this morning. Creamy sweet grassy notes with just enough spice on the retrohale to keep it interesting.

I enjoyed my simple experience with the Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Claro this morning… just what the doctor ordered.

Last January I took my first venture since my return to the cigar hobby with a Candela wrapped cigar, the La Flor Dominicana Double Claro and I was really surprised at what a wonderful experience I had.

Today, I follow this up with a newly acquired Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Claro that I found at Timber Valley Tobacco in Beaverton, Oregon.

This morning’s cigar is wrapped in a dry pastel green candela wrapper with a double cap. The 858 Claro was firm and consistent, with no lumps, bumps, or soft spots. At first glance, this cigar appears to be delicate in both appearance and feel with its smooth flawless wrapper.

My first senses of this cigar on my very first cold draw was of grass and vegetal aromas, but I kinda knew that was going to happen.

Once lit, I was transformed; cream and wood follow with some sweetness in the background… Wow… #SakamotoHappy!

The Arturo Fuente 8-5-8 Claro was a creamy smooth smoking experience and even a #FingerBurner. I have another in my TupperDor marinating and I can’t wait to fire it up.

This is a perfect morning or first cigar.
