COVID-19 Day 852
Right away from this 7th Tuxtla by Tatuaje Cigars I notice very similar tobacco flavors from yesterdays Mexican San Andreas wrapped Avion 13 Tuxtla… earthy black pepper with a retrohale that echoes the pepper flavors… only this time my burn issues start quickly in the first third… this keeps going out… relights galore follow. From the image on the right, you can see there are some construction issues that seem to plague these cigars.
I’ve smoked a half-inch or so and it seems to be behaving correctly now. Let’s hope it lasts.
Starting the second third, the same tobacco flavors are keeping me company… I’m resigned to keep puffing away…just to keep this lit.
Sad to report that this 7th Tuxtla is too high maintenance to enjoy, so it’s time to say goodbye, I have to keep relighting it even after I’ve dry-boxed this for a day or so.

It is a variant on the Tatuaje Seleccion de Cazador 7th, which dates back more than a decade and has previously been offered in three wrapper options: an Ecuadorian habano, an Ecuadorian Sumatra, and a Connecticut broadleaf, all of which use a dual binder of Nicaraguan tobacco and a Nicaraguan filler. – Half Wheel
